Ben Kweller made two albums that I love, then he made one that I hated. That’s okay though, because I really love the ones I love, and I’m optimistic for the future, because my motivational speaker tells me I should be. Kweller recently packed up his stuff, his wife, and his baby and moved back to Texas after several years in Brooklyn with the cool kids. From the messages on his website, I’m guessing this effected the sound of his record, as he talks a lot about Coors Light, Honky Tonk Piano, and guitar solos. Sounds good to me!
The record is called Changing Horses and Ben’s “intimate fall club dates” are a chance for fans to “preview new material, and purchase exclusive merchandise,” namely a tour-only EP entitled: How Ya Lookin, Southbound, Comein, a self-described “Truck drivin’, CB-Talkin’, EP which will feature 3 album songs, 2 bonus tracks, field recordings, demos, and unreleased b-sides from the arhcives. Sounds pretty sweet!
