Does anyone know legitimately why most bands skip Detroit these days?!!??

I’m not sure if it’s the venue(s) are greedy and don’t make it worth the band’s while (I know Wilco and Bright Eyes have inferred that Clear Channel controls all the major venues… so they play Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor which is a seated venue – not ideal for most rock bands). Or is it just thought that Detroit won’t support rock shows with our local economy in the tank?
I’d like to see Frightened Rabbit – but not enough to drive to Cleveland, Columbus, or Chicago.
