Come, come, come here at once

PJ Harvey wasn’t supposed to happen for me. She was always going to be one of those people who I greatly admired based off the handful of random songs I had amasses over the years, but never delved fully into. This plan was shot to hell when I came across a frazzled looking Polly performing songs from her beautiful recent release, White Chalk, on an out of context Yahoo! performance stage.

As she omnichorded, auto-harped, strummed, & sang her way straight into my heart I felt an immediate and sincere disappointment in myself. How could I have been so blind all these years?

yeah, but be forewarned. ‘white chalk’ is a pretty big departure for her, so it doesn’t sound much like her earlier stuff.

I know, and from the looks of it, it’s one not many fans like.

    I love it!

why do people get so upset when artists experiment? i usually think it’s a good thing and they usually end up being my favorite albums.

  4. Caleb Says:

    Agreed, for the most part.
